Why this farm feels different
Part farm visit, part year-round program calendar
Bluebird Farm Alpacas was founded by Nick Villa as a family-owned farm with a mission to introduce local communities to alpacas. Among alpaca farms in New Jersey, it sits firmly at the experience-driven end of the spectrum: visitors can book a straightforward herd encounter, add a guided walk, or plan something more specialized.
Picnics, yoga, seasonal gatherings, field trips, fiber demonstrations, private celebrations, and programs for community organizations all appear in the farm's broader schedule. Not every activity runs every week, so Bluebird makes more sense as a place to choose an experience first and a date second.
A farm that keeps changing roles

Seasonal calendarHoliday activities and limited-date programs
Bluebird advertises seasonal experiences throughout the year, including holiday-oriented visits. These should be treated as dated events, not part of every reservation.
Health and wellnessYoga, retreats, and quiet time with alpacas
Wellness activities are offered separately from the everyday encounter menu. Check the current schedule rather than buying a regular farm-visit ticket.
Education and fiberField trips, spinning, artisans, and product making
Programs can connect animal care with the path from annual shearing to yarn and finished alpaca products.
From pasture to product
The farm store is part of the Bluebird story
Bluebird describes its approach as “field to fashion.” The on-site store carries yarn, clothing, toys, gifts, and locally handmade pieces, including products connected to fiber from the farm's own herd. Unlike animal visits, the store advertises weekend hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. without a reservation.

Three details that can change the day
- 01
Walk companions are booked as an add-on
The $20 companion option appears at checkout after at least one alpaca-walking ticket is added. Bluebird describes it as useful for children age eight and under or companions who do not want to lead an alpaca.
- 02
Tickets belong to one date and time
Booked experiences are non-refundable. Late arrivals may receive a shortened visit, and no-shows are not refunded. If Bluebird cancels for unsafe conditions, the farm says it may offer a reschedule or credit.
- 03
The store and animal areas follow different access rules
Farm visits and walks require reservations. The farm store separately advertises weekend drop-in shopping from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
