Breeding animals
Females, males, young animals, and packages may be available for farms developing a Suri breeding program.
Amity, Oregon
A long-running, primarily Suri farm combining colored-fleece breeding, alpaca sales, reserved farm experiences, and working livestock guardian dogs.
Farm overview
Wings and A Prayer Alpacas began in 1998 and became a full-time family operation several years later. The current core herd is predominantly Suri, with animals representing a broad natural-color range and several different roles within the breeding program.
The farm combines the careful selection expected of a breeding-focused alpaca farm with approachable visits for people who want to meet alpacas in person. Its wooded Amity setting also gives it a different visitor experience from more open, pasture-oriented Oregon farms.
Breeding direction
Breeding decisions place attention on Suri qualities such as luster, lock structure, fineness, density, and sound conformation. The farm works across colors from white through fawn, brown, gray, and black, while maintaining herdsires and females selected for different breeding goals.
Building or extending a herd
Current availability changes, but the farm supports buyers looking for breeding animals as well as less specialized herd members.

02
Proven and developing males support outside breeding plans, with individual pairings depending on availability and the buyer’s goals.
03
Not every alpaca needs a breeding role. Animals may also be placed for fleece production or as compatible herd companions.
Working alongside the herd
Wings and A Prayer also raises Great Pyrenees for livestock-guardian work. Puppies spend their early months around the farm and receive foundational care and training before moving to new homes. Current or planned litters should be confirmed directly with the farm.
Meet the animals
Alpacas 101 provides a shorter introduction with questions, hands-on interaction, and supervised feeding. The Alpaca Trek adds a guided walk through the wooded farm with a haltered alpaca. Both require advance arrangements.
The onsite store is also available by appointment and carries alpaca clothing, accessories, home goods, and selected pieces made with fiber from the farm.
Confirm current arrangements
Check animal availability, breeding services, visits, guardian-dog plans, and farm-store access with the farm before traveling.
