A broader livestock model

Fleece is one part of the operation

Stoneberg Alpacas began in 2007 and moved to its current Hillsboro property in 2010. The farm raises alpacas, sends fleece to mills for processing, and sells finished goods through an on-site boutique.

What makes Stoneberg different from many alpaca farms is its stated effort to use the entire animal rather than treating every alpaca as a show or breeding prospect. Among Oregon farms, that gives this operation an unusually direct livestock-production focus.

Across the farm

Several uses from one working herd

Stoneberg separates its work into fleece production, meat production, retail goods, and other practical farm outputs.

01

Fleece and the farm boutique

Fiber from selected animals is processed by mills and returned to the farm. The boutique combines goods connected to Stoneberg's own herd with additional alpaca clothing, accessories, blankets, and gift items.

02

Stoneberg Meat Company

Created in late 2022, the separate meat division sells farm-raised alpaca meat and shelf-stable products. Current products, ordering arrangements, and availability should be checked directly with the company.

Other practical farm products

Stoneberg also presents alpaca manure for garden use and manufactures the Frank Fountain, a heated watering station designed for livestock. These smaller divisions reinforce the farm's production-oriented character.

Before going

Public hours are not the same as a farm tour

Stoneberg posts weekend farm and boutique hours and welcomes visitors. Its website does not describe guided tours, alpaca walks, or a scheduled visitor program. Confirm current hours and the nature of farm access before traveling.
