Grand Alpaca Company is operated by Les and Cherish Meyette in Montague, on Michigan's west side. The farm raises Huacaya alpacas and also runs a custom mini mill, giving the business an unusually direct connection between the animals in the pasture and the finished fiber leaving the barn.
That combination makes it different from many Michigan farms raising alpacas. Grand Alpaca works with its own fleece, but the mill also processes fiber for other farms, including both alpaca and sheep wool.
