Before choosing a tree
New York Christmas tree farms often operate for only a few weekends. Inventory, field conditions, and weather can change within a day, particularly after Thanksgiving weekend. A current farm update is more useful than general posted hours.
Choose-and-cut farms may grow fir, spruce, and pine, while pre-cut inventories can include trees brought in from other fields. If the farm offers shaking and baling, those services can make the trip home easier. Measure the room and vehicle space before selecting a tree.
