A working alpaca farm, campground, and outdoor event destination on a private riverfront property in the western Maine foothills.
More than one farm activity
Kendall and Marie operate Sandy River Alpacas in the foothills of western Maine. The farm raises and breeds alpacas for fleece, but the animals also remain visible throughout the camping and event sides of the property.
Sandy River Camping and Sandy River Outdoor Weddings & Events are divisions of the same operation, not unrelated businesses. Together they give Sandy River a different role among alpaca farms in Maine: it is a working farm where guests can stay overnight or hold a gathering.
Across the property
Each division has a separate purpose and website, while the alpacas and river setting connect the guest experience.

Sandy River Camping spreads overnight accommodations across the property rather than separating guests from the farm. Interested campers may be able to learn about daily animal care, fleece work, halter handling, or walking with an alpaca, depending on current arrangements and farm routines.

Outdoor celebrations
The event division uses the farm's open landscape, river setting, gardens, and mountain views for weddings and other gatherings. Alpacas remain part of the character of the property, while the hosts work directly with groups planning private celebrations or organized events.

The farm breeds alpacas and harvests their fleece. Its shop carries alpaca clothing and home goods alongside smaller handmade pieces produced on the farm, keeping the retail side connected to both the herd and Marie's craft work.
