Practice in the barn studio
Regular classes include gentle Hatha, restorative Yin, and Vinyasa flow in the rural studio.
Westport Island, Maine
A small Midcoast farm where a barn yoga studio, seasonal classes with alpacas, quiet animal visits, and cupcakes under the tent share the same island setting.
A barn with several purposes
Lulu's Barn is a personal Westport Island farm where Rosie has lived with her aging alpaca herd for more than a decade. The barn has gradually become a place for yoga, visits, and intimate celebrations.
That combination gives Lulu's Barn an unusual position among alpaca farms in Maine. Guests might arrive for a weekly studio class, reserve time with the alpacas, or plan an occasion that combines movement, food, and the farm setting.
Three ways into the experience
The offerings overlap, but each follows a different format: a yoga class, direct time with the herd, or a private social visit.
Move
Regular classes include gentle Hatha, restorative Yin, and Vinyasa flow in the rural studio.
Meet
Reserved visits provide time for hand-feeding, photographs, and meeting the herd.
Gather
Cupcake visits, birthdays, private yoga, and group outings make the property an informal gathering place.
Two yoga settings
The regular studio program and the seasonal pasture program are related, but they provide different experiences.
Weekly indoor classes focus on the yoga practice itself. The barn provides a warm, small-group studio, while the farm remains part of the surrounding atmosphere.
Seasonal outdoor classes take place in the alpaca area, with animals moving nearby and a short meet-and-greet afterward. These sessions are designed for participants age twelve and older.
The playful side of the barn
The Alpacas & Cupcakes visit pairs reserved time under the tent with a locally made cupcake and the chance to offer sliced apples to the herd. It is structured as a relaxed private experience rather than a quick stop at a petting zoo, with time for conversation and photographs.
View farm-visit optionsCupcake experiences require advance notice, while simpler alpaca visits are also arranged ahead of time.
Before visiting
Visits and classes require advance registration, while outdoor activities depend on the season and weather. Families should check the age guidance because farm visits, children's parties, and alpaca yoga follow different rules.
