Farm overview
Tiskilwa Farms began after its owners sought smaller livestock for their Illinois River Valley property. They started with two bred females and assembled a large herd containing both principal breeds of alpacas.
The farm sits between Wyanet, Tiskilwa, and Buda, on a ridge south of Interstate 80. Its scale and sales orientation distinguish it among Illinois farms, while sheep, poultry, and Akbash dogs add to the broader farm setting.
Two fleece traditions
The farm’s mixed herd gives prospective owners a choice between two distinct fleece types and appearances.
Huacaya
Huacayas carry a rounded fleece that grows outward from the body and can be selected across natural colors.
Suri
Suris produce hanging locks with a smoother profile, giving breeders and fiber owners a different type of fleece to consider.
Breeding and sales
Tiskilwa Farms has built its program through Peruvian and Chilean bloodlines acquired from farms around the country. Its breeding males are presented as the “Chiefs of Tiskilwa,” with prospective clients invited to discuss an appropriate match for their females.
Outside breeding arrangements begin with a discussion of the female and the owner’s goals.
Available alpacas may suit established programs seeking different pedigrees, colors, or fleece characteristics.
The farm describes grouped purchase options for people beginning a herd, subject to current availability.

Farm tours introduce the alpacas and the property’s other animals. Visits are arranged in advance rather than offered as unrestricted drop-in access.
People using farm profiles to compare breeding programs should contact Tiskilwa Farms directly about current animals, herdsires, purchase packages, and tour arrangements before traveling.
