Branchville, New Jersey · Farm tours by reservation
Private animal experiences, fiber-arts instruction, farm and online shopping, and a cottage stay on a multigenerational Sussex County fiber farm.
The farm
Hidden Pastures is a family-owned and managed farm in Sussex County. The family purchased the property in 2004 and began with alpacas before adding Angora rabbits, goats, llamas, sheep, and yaks. Three generations participate in the farm, which combines livestock care with fiber processing, teaching, and retail sales.
The farm supplies alpaca, Angora, cashmere, llama, mohair, Teeswater, and yak fiber in forms intended for spinning and other fiber crafts. Natalie Burger works from the farm studio and teaches spinning, weaving, dyeing, felting, fiber preparation, and related skills. Finished natural-fiber clothing, gifts, tools, and supplies are also sold through the farm's shop.
Unlike a farm focused only on short public visits, Hidden Pastures also maintains a two-bedroom cottage where booked guests stay alongside the working farm. Farm visitors, class participants, shoppers, and overnight guests should follow the arrangements that apply to the activity they have booked.
Tour availability, class schedules, workshop prices, store hours, and cottage rates can change. Review the applicable booking page or contact the farm before making plans.

Farm visits, fiber activities, and overnight stays each have their own arrangements.
A reserved group experience
The farm's current private experience is booked for a group rather than sold as individual admission. The one-hour visit includes time with alpacas, yaks, cashmere and Angora goats, Angora rabbits, and an optional pasture walk to see the sheep. Access to working artists in the studio depends on whether they are present.

Farm-specific answers
Do not assume that posted business hours include unrestricted animal access. The farm directs visitors to book its private farm experience, while its contact page separately publishes hours for the business and shop.
The current description includes alpacas, yaks, cashmere and Angora goats, and Angora rabbits. A pasture walk to visit sheep is optional. Individual animals and parts of the experience may depend on farm conditions.

Yes. The farm works with several natural fibers and publishes classes devoted to preparation, dyeing, spinning, felting, and weaving. Some class descriptions specify that tools or materials are included; check the selected workshop before registering.
The two-bedroom cottage has an active Airbnb listing for as many as four guests. The farm's separate tent-camping description states that camping reservations are not currently being accepted.
Comparing farm visits
Hidden Pastures is particularly suited to visitors interested in a reserved small-group animal experience, fiber instruction, or an overnight cottage stay. Someone looking instead for unrestricted drop-in access, a shorter alpaca-only encounter, or a public event on a specific weekend can compare other NJ alpaca farms with different visitor arrangements.
The farm's mix of alpacas, goats, rabbits, llamas, sheep, yaks, working artists, and lodging is not a standard setup at every location. Travelers who want to compare fiber farms with breeding farms, public tour destinations, and smaller alpaca operations can use the alpaca farm directory to search throughout the United States.
